FAQs
Is This Course Suitable For Me?
This course is for anyone who paddles grade on 2/3 in their kayak and wants to improve. Individualised coaching means that everyone can be challenged whether early on in their journey or just looking for a refresher.
Where Will The Course Take Place?
The exact venue will be decided a few days before according to water levels and rainfall.
What do I need to bring?
You'll need everything to have a comfortable day on the river including kayak, bouyancy aid, helmet, paddle, clothing suitable to the weather and time of year. It's worth having some snacks and a drink as well as a packed lunch in a suitably waterproofed container packed int he back of your kayak.
Getting There/Where to Stay
Assuming you agree, we'll have a Whatsapp group chat with everyone in, this will allow you to potentially share lifts & book accommodation as a group which helps keep costs down and reduces our impact on the environment. We'll also use this to share photos and videos taken during the course.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes - if you want one. The Paddle UK Progressive whitewater award is pitched at this level and if you're not quite ready for that you can probably achieve the Whitewater Award. Certification is included in the price of the course.
