Whitewater Open Canoe Leader Training

20200724_110531(0).jpg

If you are a whitewater canoeist and you aspire to lead others on grade 2(3) rivers then this is the course for you.

Drawing on my personal experience of leading trips and expeditions across the UK and abroad this training course will cover a wide range of topics in line with the British Canoeing Awarding Body leadership ethos of Inspire, Support & Challenge.

We'll look at ways to not only keep other paddlers safe but how to ensure they have a great time out on the river. All sessions are delivered in a practical and interactive way, along with comprehensive resources help you to understand complex decision making in this dynamic environment.

The canoe is an extremely versatile craft and  we'll explore the traditional skills applicable to it such as lining and poling. You'll go away from this course with clear feedback as well as a personal development plan if you are looking towards assessment.
