Rannoch Moor
The Cross-Scotland Canoe Challenge

20190513_130718(0)[1].jpg

Probably the most iconic canoe trip in Scotland, starting in the West on lonely Loch Ba a tiny trickle of water slowly makes its way downhill to the east, depending on conditions this could mean poling through shallow streams or paddling along narrow upland flows. Eventually the river meets the next loch and then its time to sail or paddle down to find the next river which is a little bigger.

After that its loch, river, loch river and so on; this remote trip will give you chance to utilise every traitional canoe skill in your toolbox including poling, sailing, lining, paddling whitewater, paddling open water, rafting and even trolleying. If you've tried these skills out and would like to put them to the test then this is your opportunity. All whilst carrying our camping equipment and wild camping under the biggest skies you've ever seen in stunning Scottish wilderness.

The latter part of this trip involves the damn release sections of the River Tummel which provide challenging grade two/three whitewater with the option for one or two harder rapids, truly a journey that provides every aspect of open canoe journeying.
